1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device (browser) when you visit it. They allow the site to remember certain information about your visit — for example, whether you're a new or returning visitor, or whether you just passed an anti-spam check.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (stay until an expiry date), and either first-party (set by mitzuu.ro itself) or third-party (set by external providers we use, such as Cloudflare).

This policy explains exactly which cookies we use on mitzuu.ro, what for, how long they last, and how you can manage them in your browser.

2. Cookie categories

Cookies generally fall into 4 standard categories:

  • Strictly necessary (essential) cookies — without them the site cannot operate securely. They include anti-bot protection and form verification. No consent required under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.
  • Functional cookies — improve your experience: remember preferences (language, theme), keep track of what you ticked. Require consent. We use none.
  • Analytics cookies — collect statistics about how the site is used (pages visited, session duration). Require consent when they identify users individually. We use no analytics cookies; we use a cookieless system instead (see section 4).
  • Marketing / advertising cookies — track users across multiple websites to deliver personalised ads. We use none.

3. Cookies we use

The mitzuu.ro website uses a minimum number of cookies, all from the strictly necessary category:

CookieProviderPurposeDurationType
__cf_bmCloudflareBot management — distinguishes between real users and automated bots to protect the site30 minutesEssential
cf_clearanceCloudflareRemembers that you passed a CAPTCHA / Turnstile check (form anti-spam)30 daysEssential
cf_chl_*Cloudflare TurnstileTemporary anti-bot challenge validation when submitting formsSessionEssential

All of the above are set by Cloudflare, our technical partner that handles security, DDoS protection, and the site's anti-spam. They are required for normal operation.

We also use localStorage (NOT a cookie) to remember that you saw the cookie banner (key mtz-cookie-consent-v1). This is never transmitted to any server.

4. Cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

To understand site traffic (how many visitors, which pages are popular, technical performance) we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. Unlike Google Analytics or other traditional systems, Cloudflare Web Analytics:

  • Does not use cookies — no file is saved on your device for this purpose;
  • Does not collect unique identifiers — you cannot be tracked individually across pages or sessions;
  • Does not perform fingerprinting — no fingerprint of your device is built;
  • IP address is pseudonymised immediately and not stored;
  • The data collected is strictly aggregated: total visitor count, top pages visited, country (national level), device type (mobile/desktop), Web Vitals (LCP, CLS).

Because it does not use cookies or any other storage on your device, under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive this analytics does not require prior consent. It is mentioned here purely for full transparency.

5. How to manage cookies

You can always block, delete, or selectively accept cookies directly from your browser. Note: if you block essential cookies (Cloudflare), some site features (especially forms) may stop working.

Instructions for the most popular browsers:

You can also use browser extensions to block third-party cookies, or use private/incognito browsing mode (which doesn't save persistent cookies).

6. Policy updates

We may update this Cookie Policy if we add or remove cookies, or if we change providers. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown in the header. For significant changes (for example, if we add a new category of cookies), we will display the cookie banner again to ask for your consent.
